Champalimaud Clinical Centre (CCC)

The Champalimaud Clinical Centre (CCC) is a state-of-the-art centre for science, medicine and technology, comprising a clinical facility for both research and treatment of disease. The core mission of the CCC is to offer premier clinical services, supported by advanced programmes of translational research. In this way, the CCC strives to personalise therapy and improve clinical outcomes. 

The team offers a full spectrum of clinical services, including early diagnosis, treatment, counselling and follow-up, as we strive to define new standards of patient care. Cancer care at the CCC is organised into specialised Disease Management Teams – comprising, among others, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, nurses, imaging specialists and psycho-oncologists – which meet regularly to decide on the management of each individual patient. 

In addition to managing the treatment process, the centre’s world-renowned faculty strives to confront cancer at its root by utilising the latest technology and techniques to offer an advanced programme of early detection and cancer prevention. Common to all Units of the CCC is the access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic tools.

The CCC is fully equipped to offer the latest techniques and methods in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the breast, lung, prostate, digestive tract, as well as providing a particular focus on metastasis.

In addition to the advanced programmes of oncologic care, the CCC also offers treatment for neuropsychiatric diseases, supported by focused research programmes carried out by the Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme.
