Dr. Matthiasson is the CEO of Landspitali. Landspitali is the National University Hospital of Iceland, a 700 bed, 5700 staff general and tertiary care hospital in Reykjavik Iceland. Dr. Matthiasson completed his medical degree in Iceland, his specialisation in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital in London and completed a PhD in psychopharmacology from the University of London. He was director of mental health services in Iceland before taking up post as CEO of Landspitali in 2013.
