General Manager of Medtronic in Portugal since 2003.
After graduating in Economics from the University of Lisbon (UNL) and in Business and Administration from ISCTE, Luis began a career related to the Pharmaceutical Industry and Health Technologies at Abbott Laboratories. He became General Manager firstly in Hungary and later in Norway.
Luis then returned to Portugal to take the lead in the country of the world leader in Technology, Services and Medical Solutions, the Multinational Medtronic.
At the same time, assumed the Presidency of the Apormed, the Portuguese Association of Companies and Medical Devices, continuing to this date to be a member of the Board.
He was also invited to the Board of the prestigious Health Cluster Portugal, the biggest health Cluster in the country where he also still maintains functions.
Luis is a Researcher at the University of Aveiro and at the Catholic University of Portugal. With the objective of knowledge sharing to the companies, collaborated in forums and workshops with various universities such as the Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon Business School and the University of Beira Interior.
Luis is invited, on a regular basis, to participate in several Health Discussion Forums and writes opinion articles on the same topic in several publications.”
